For many of us, yoga is a deeply personal experience. It is always a great yoga class when we are able to climb deeply into our own bodies and really experience the postures, nothing beats that……except maybe one thing……bringing someone else along.

When we partner up with another person, we can go even deeper into our poses and the entire yoga experience. Our yoga partner can be another student in the class, an instructor, or a Thai Yoga Massage therapist. Whoever it is, when someone else is physically helping to guide you into a pose, you will be able to go deeper and more fully into your postures.

KSTR’s New Volunteer Coordinator

Kids Saving the Rainforest is proud to present the newest member of its permanent staff – Pablo Porras-Peñaranda. Pablo, a biologist by training, will now serve as the Volunteer Coordinator. KSTR is a local non-profit organization based in Manuel Antonio whose goal is to preserve and educate about the rainforest and its many animals. As the organization’s popularity and mission has grown, the number of interested volunteers has increased.

Beach Clean-Up

On June 12 and Aug 28, 2011, Aguas Azules had a great time working with members of the community to clean up the public beach. Everyone worked hard to make our beach even more beautiful! All participants received a free ride on the banana boat from Aguas Azules and entered a raffle for a free parasailing from Aguas Azules and a free 1 hour massage from Holis Wellness Center.

¿Qué Pasa en Quepos? – September-October 2011

Bienvenidos/Welcome to our beautiful corner of Costa Rica –we will have rain during the 2 months this issue covers, the question is how much, but we hope you will still have enough sunshine to enjoy—it is what makes the rainforest green….we have things for you to do…like the Sept. 15^th Independence Day Parade- always fun and colorful to watch – usually starts around 10 or 11am in Quepos- bands, floats… everything a parade needs and a proud day for Costa Ricans to celebrate………….the 5^th Annual Chili Cook-Off takes place at La Hacienda Restaurant on Oct. 1^st—if you want to enter call them by the 28^th of Sept………or just come out for a taste of some great chili and laughs………..it’s also NFL Football ….you will be able to watch your favorite team in many locations around town…this is the time of year that many of our wonderful restaurants close to allow their employees vacation so it’s a good idea to check before you go……..our colorful cover shot was sent in by our own Jim Phillips of MA – we think it will brighten our days for the next couple of months – great shot – thanks Jim!
