High Five For Safety!

Steffie StickheadBrought to you by Steffie Stickhead

Hi! I’m Steffie Stickhead and I’m your local Safety Stick. It’s very important to be aware of your surroundings, and I’m here to give you your first high five!!!

Do you know that the UV (Ultra-Violet) index level here is 11 year round?  On the internationally recognized UV Scale, that means extreme risk of harm from unprotected sun exposure.  Want a high five?  Protect yourself and your family by taking all precautions:  wear sunglasses, use 30+ S.P.F., wear a broad hat, always moderate your exposure, especially from 9 am to 3 pm.

There’s nothing wrong with being a cautious stick, or a slippery stick, and slapping on the sunscreen.  Drink lots and lots of water, because your body will keep cooler and hydrated; reducing the chances of heat or sun stroke, as well as a burn.

If you’re swimming, remember that the reflection of sun off of the water intensifies the UV factor.  Heed these guidelines, and nobody has to be a cancer stick – just get a high five for safety!  This way, you get to have fun the WHOLE time you’re here, instead of hiding your burnt, red, blistered skin from the intense sun.  C’mon, it’s not that hard, get a High Five for Safety!
