What’s Shaking at Marina Pez Vela? – February 2016

Happy 2016 from the entire team and family here at Marina Pez Vela (MPV). It is such a tremendous honor for the team here at MPV to be able to share the amazing public space with the community of Quepos and Manuel Antonio. Your support of the project, the signature restaurants & shops, and the events our team works to create are what makes this project and our community great and unique here in Costa Rica.
Quepos Billfish Cup:
MPV is hosting our signature billfishing tournament this February 3-6th. We expect our largest angler and boat count in the history of the tournament and will be welcoming teams from around the country and the U.S. to compete this Quepos classic tournament. The tournament is a qualifier for the Offshore World Championship, another enormously important event we will be hosting later this year.
Taste of the Quepos Billfish Cup: Thursday, February 4th and Friday February 5th, come out for a sunset and a chance to enjoy the second annual Taste of the Billfish Cup. As the boats arrive, you can watch the sunset, see the weigh-ins for the mahi-mahi and tuna, and support a local charity. We will be selling tickets to participate, along with the anglers and teams in the Taste of the Quepos Billfish Cup. Tickets will be $10, available onsite and provide visitors the chance to try some of the food from our signature restaurants at the marina who will be serving along with a drink. ALL PROCEEDS GO TO CHARITY, so come out for some fun, a good cause and to support the anglers in this tournament.
Outdoor Movie Nights:
THEY ARE BACK!! One of our most popular ongoing community events are our FREE MOVIE NIGHTS which we host at the Marina each Friday Night at 7 pm. Our beautiful setting is for the community to enjoy and there is nothing better than relaxing under the tropical night sky, watching some fantastic movies with friends and family. We will be rotating animated movies with non-animated features each week to offer a mix of features for you to enjoy and you can visit our Facebook page for updates on each weeks feature film. All of our restaurants here, with a few new additions set to open in the next few months, have some great specials as well for those looking to combine happy hour, dinner and the FREE movie.
SUPER BOWL 50:
Costa Rica’s largest super bowl party is on again for 2016. On February 7th, Marina Pez Vela will have the iconic big screen out and we invite you all to come down and enjoy the most watched sporting event of the year! We will have great specials at all the restaurants, a charity football pool to keep the game interesting, and plenty of passionate fans cheering on their teams. Whether a die-hard fan, or just looking for a good time, do NOT miss out on Costa Rica’s largest Super Bowl Party!
