WOW…while there are likely more appropriate adjectives to describe all that took place during the month of December and close of the 2017 year here at Marina Pez Vela, the sheer pace of it all and incredibly memorable moments have even our most verbose of collaborators speechless! Triathalon, Bright Lights, Christmas, New Year’s….a truly fantastic close to 2017 is like the red carpet for 2018 and an AWESOME year ahead. 

January has the family at Marina Pez Vela continuing with some amazing events and news and we are very excited to share with you all the most important reminders for this first month of 2018!

PELAGIC ROCK STAR TOURNAMENT IS BACK!!!

After an epic inaugural Pelagic Rock Star Tournament, we are very proud to be hosting them again on January 11-13th, 2018. This event is the best way to kick off the tournament season here and is one of the most unique experiences for professional and amateur anglers alike. While the competition can get heated, like in any event, this tournament is ALL ABOUT THE FUN, and the team from Pelagic stop at nothing to ensure an event unlike any other here in the region. There are awards of over $200,000 in value in a host of divisions for large boats, small boats, big bill fish, game fish, and the opportunity for anglers and guests to share in a host of other prizes. The hottest fishing in the planet all day, the best dockside parties each night. This tournament is HEAVY on the fun and LIGHT on the rules, so even newbies to the sport or just a group of friends looking for an unforgettable experience will have an unforgettable time. The ROCKSTAR is a can’t-miss event.

PELAGIC OPENS ITS FIRST RETAIL STORE IN COSTA RICA AT MARINA PEZ VELA!

While the Rock Star tournament is an important event for our marina and the team from Pelagic, there is even more and bigger news that this international team and business is bringing to the project. The first Pelagic Retail Store is now open for business here at Marina Pez Vela. The location is right on the waterfront and next to the sandbox and is an AMAZING spot to check out the latest in cutting edge apparel designed by and for anglers and water lovers. The store has the best of the best in terms of quality, and is designed to help make this team and line of gear a part of the culture and experience here at the project. THURSDAY RADIO DOS LIVE FROM MPV!

If you haven’t heard the iconic voice and legendary classic rock sets of Evan Luck and the team from RadioDos 99.5 FM, you are either new in town, too young to know what Classic Rock is, or have been stuck in the jungle for one night too many! Evan Luck and the MPV team broadcast live every Thursday night from the Runaway Grill. It is an awesome reason to come down for a sunset and the happy hour specials at the Runaway, share with some friends and join the party. We have live guests on every week and are always interested in community events to share with the audience, which is mostly people stuck in traffic in San Jose, but also includes an International online audience from around the globe. See you this Thursday 5pm!

OUTDOOR FRIDAY MOVIE NIGHTS UNDER THE STARS

The family at MPV remains committed and enamored with the public events which have become a part of our culture here at the project providing the opportunity for young and old, rich and poor, gringo or Tico, to share in this amazing facility. The Friday Night FREE Movie Nights continue here in January and we encourage everyone to come out, marvel in a sunset, enjoy some of the fantastic food, shopping, and services on site, and then settle in for a movie under the stars.
