What’s Shaking at Marina Pez Vela? – March 2016

February was an incredible month at Marina Pez Vela with an endless line up of events including the Quepos Billfish Cup, Costa Rica’s largest Super Bowl party, scholarship events for local schools, a Valentine’s Day Concert and an incredible season of tourists enjoying these amazing facilities. The energy and excitement will continue in March with new stores and services opening, this year’s earliest Easter Week/Semana Santa and the Costa Rica national soccer team back in action.
Outdoor Movie Nights
Our Friday Night Free Movie nights are once again in full swing and are just another way that the Marina is looking to create a public space for our local families, expats and tourist to enjoy the stunning backdrop of our coast in a pleasant environment. Every Friday at 7 p.m., come and join us under the stars on our giant 30 foot screen, grab a pizza, some popcorn and an ice cream and enjoy!
Radio Dos Live every Thursday night, 5-7pm
Come by and join us for this iconic radio show, with host Evan Luck at the Runaway Grill. We have amazing happy hour specials and always a good laugh or two as we transmit around the country on 99.5 FM and live around the globe on www.radiodos.com, so tell all your snowbound friends and family to tune in. Treat Scott to a beer and he may even get you on the radio.
Sunset Plaza just keeps getting better
Construction is now complete on our commercial plaza and we have lots of great places opening up. Creating a diverse set of services and amenities for our local community, tourists and Marina users has been at the forefront of our minds since the inception of the plaza and we are proud to announce to following new dining addition to the project this month.

This unique Asian fusion restaurant offers up an eclectic and inexpensive menu, combining the healthy essence of sushi with unique mix of flavors including more flavor filled fusions of chicken, beef, and traditional favorites like Tuna and Salmon. Ideal for a quick bite, light dinner and catering services also available for parties and special events.
CR vs Jamaica, Friday March 25th
The giant Marina Movie screen will feature this important World Cup qualifying game. So come dressed in your “Sele” jersey and waiving the CR Flag and let’s celebrate another historic run to the World Cup!
Easter Sunday
Semana Santa is one of the most important weeks here in Costa Rica, both for its religious significance and for activities and tourism here in Quepos. On Easter Sunday, we will host an Easter egg hunt for the kids and Easter Brunch Specials at our restaurants, so come down, smile and reflect on life’s awesomeness.
