Our thanks to the Bonnier Organization and the Costa Rica Tourism Board (ICT) and the whole Quepos community for once again welcoming the 350 anglers from around the world to last month’s Offshore World Championship. It was an exciting and dynamic event with teams coming in from as far away as Angola and New Zealand. We are proud that Marina Pez Vela and its hard working team was able to bring this great event to Quepos for the 4th straight year.

New Tenants in Sunset Plaza
The past few months have been a whirlwind of new activity here at our uplands and we have a lot of new businesses who have just opened or are opening in the coming days. The plaza at the marina is now much more than a place to come and watch the sunset and grab a bite to eat, and with this new diverse set of services, the Marina is a complete destination with something for everyone. Here are our newest tenants in our tourism plaza located on the first level at the marina: SANSA, Sunset Sails, Reel In Sportfishing, Rancho Tucanes, American Export. Aguas Azules Parasailing and Ocean King Catamaran Adventures
On our upper plaza level we are proud to welcome: Hospital Metropolitana, Pluma de Mar, Oceans Unlimited Dive Shop, Pacific Fish and Beach and National Rent a Car

Slip Expansion
With the new commercial area now complete, our attention for the remainder of 2016 turns to growth in the water. As those of you in the area have watched over the past year, the demand for our slips has been incredible and on many days we have extensive waiting lists or boats moored in the middle of the basin. We are happy to announce that we are expanding our slip facilities and we will be more than doubling the total amount of linear feet of dockage at the Marina. Construction is already underway and by the end of the year, we will be able to welcome a total of 91 new vessels to the Marina. This expansion will have a great impact on our local businesses, hotels, tour operators, restaurants and community and we hope you all will come out to watch this important expansion unfold.
